George's Island plot

Legend has it that George Jellybee killed the infamous Captain Kidd and hid the treasure on George's Island. George Waters is very interested in the legend, but his teacher thinks he should learn more from books and also sends one of the better students to his house to look into his living conditions. When she discovers that he lives with his old grandfather, she wants to place George in foster care.
