Five Children and It plot

"You are invited to discover the secret..."

The children Cyril, Anthea, Robert, Jane, and their little brother find the sand fairy Psammead one day. The old little man looks strange with his bat ears and weird little body. There is one big plus: Psammead can grant wishes. He grants the five children one wish a day. But the kids find out that wishing well is harder than they thought. One of the wishes causes enormous chaos, as a result of which the children end up in a precarious situation.
