Erode il Grande plot

Herod is the despotic ruler of the Jewish people. Feeling threatened by the possibility of an invasion by the Romans, he decides to meet with their leader to try to reach an agreement. Before leaving, Herod tells his servant Aron to kill the Queen Miriam if he does not return from his assignment. During his absence, some conspirators in the palace spread the rumor that Herod is dead, but Aron does not want to kill Miriam. He kills the conspirators and flees with her to get her to safety. When Herod has successfully completed his mission, he returns to the palace. When he returns home, his son tells him that Aron has betrayed and deceived him. Herod is delirious with anger and jealousy.
