Die Besteigung des Chimborazo plot

Film about part of the life of the German explorer and naturalist Friedrich Wilhelm Alexander von Humbolt, who lived from 1769 to 1859. It concerns his stay in Ecuador, where he ascended the mountains from the title, but did not conquer it. It was considered the tallest in the world at the time, and despite the fact that he didn't reach the top, the press in Europe and North America still bombarded him as the man who had been on the roof of the world.
