"Hitting the screen with the force of a raging typhoon!"
Stormy waves in the South China Sea wash a drunken captain, Charles Chinnough, off his ship just before it sinks. He is rescued by a passing ship. Two months later, the now discredited captain is traveling as a passenger on a ship headed by Captain Brendersen, the man who was his first officer on his last, unfortunate voyage. Tension soon builds between the two men, especially when they both court the same female passenger, Kim Mitchell. A hurricane forces Chinnough and Bredersen to work together to save the ship, while at the same time more information comes to light about their previous journey together.
