Captain Claybourne is the leader of a group of Sepoys in the Indies. When he is severely punished for ignoring his orders, he resigns. He also breaks off his engagement to his superior's daughter until he can restore his reputation. When the Rajah Karam launches an attack against British forces, Claybourne sees an opportunity to boost his reputation.
