Englishman Otis Madison loves Isobel Brandon, but learns from her that she is in love with his best friend and legionnaire John Geste. The disappointed Otis can't help it, so he leaves for Morocco to tell John that he is the man Isobel loves. However, this turns out not to be easy because John is in prison. He has fallen into disfavor with the French Foreign Legion and the people on the ground who imprison John are not really interested in who loves him.
