A spaceship from Mars crashes near the observatory of Cyrus Layton, the designer of the first spaceship created on Earth. The survivor of the crash, the first of an upcoming invasion of Mars, can transform into any shape he wishes and calls himself the Purple Monster. He tries to take control of Layton's spaceship project and takes on former secret agent Craig Foster.
