The Last Dragon plot

A black martial arts talent, he is so obsessed with his hobby that he dresses and behaves exactly as he thinks the Chinese tradition is. He falls in love with a sexy singer, but gangsters disrupt their lives when a criminal tries to promote his own singer at all costs.

Entertaining pulp interspersed with a great soundtrack and the perfectly cast Vanity. Very sweet at times and a story that occasionally makes no sense. Above average as well..
Also known as Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon. How a music icon like Gordy ended up with this project remains strange, but if there were a competitor to Disney, it would also have to be called Motown. This film shows quite a Disney feeling (this is partly due to the smooth Taimak). Of course, Gordy had already been busy with two Diana Ross films, including the good Lady Sings The Blues (biographical film about Billie Holiday) and as director of the lesser Mahogany. The Last Dragon is a nice flick without too many pretensions. With cult status.

Reasonable film about a karate student who goes in search of a master. Not exactly your standard karate movie, but a rather colorful mix of action, music, romance and comedy. Quite a simple story. A colorful 80s decoration (the outfits and the music). It does look easy though.
