"A dangerous deal. A double cross. And the ultimate set up is yet to come."

Doc and Carol McCoy specialize in bank robberies. When Doc is trapped in a filthy Mexican prison, Carol must enlist the help of mobster boss Jack Benyon to free him. In exchange for his help, Carol and Doc must pull off a major heist for Benyon. When the robbery ends in a shooting that kills, and they narrowly escape ambushes while fleeing, it seems that the two have been betrayed by someone.

This story revolves around the criminal couple Carter 'Doc' McCoy (Alex Baldwin) and Carol McCoy (Kim Basinger), who flee after being betrayed by someone after a bank robbery gone wrong.

Smooth remake of the eponymous action thriller (1972) by director Sam Peckinpah (then starring Steve McQueen and Ali MacGraw), which largely follows the beaten track of the original follows. At the beginning of the film, screenwriter Walter Hill, who also wrote for Peckinpah, has added some variations, but once the flight has started there is nothing new to experience. The supporting roles are well done with James Woods (who has a crush on Kim Basinger) and Michael Madsen (who is mainly for money) and we also see the unfortunately much too early deceased good actor Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Nice to have seen this remake and especially because of Kim Basinger, who was a very beautiful woman at the time. That's what I thought of the sensual Jennifer Tilly, who also plays in this Action / Crime movie.

Nice film about a criminal couple whose husband ends up in prison. Maybe not as good as the original, but still quite successful as a remake. The film remains entertaining and has some decent action scenes. A cast with secretly quite a few well-known names. Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger are well cast together. Easily 3.0 stars.
