Barbara Sorensen sets out to fulfill her late husband's dying wish by scattering his ashes on a remote Minnesota lake—the place where their love story began. Upon arriving in the icy wilderness, she witnesses a kidnapping and discovers a young woman being held captive in the basement of a neighbor and his wife. Realizing she is the young woman's only hope, Barbara risks everything to save her, sparking a brutal fight for survival.

Barb (Emma Thompson) is on her way to frozen Lake Hilda in Minnesota, where she had her first date with her recently deceased husband (Paul Hamilton). Unfortunately, she asks for directions from a man (Marc Menchaca) who has taken a girl (Laurel Marsden) into custody. But Barb's main challenge is a woman in purple (Judy Greer) who has sinister plans for the girl. A Breakdown-style thriller in which an ordinary, aging woman uses all her wits to turn the cat-and-mouse game to her advantage. A wonderful showcase for Thompson and Greer, who play their roles with gusto.
