Mediocre.

Tubi also made an attempt last year to create quality within the shark genre. Swim is the result. The hope just doesn't go that high, because Jared Cohn is assigned to get the job done. When a director directs 9 films within a single year, something goes wrong.

Swim also shouts at us that it is a film that had some foundations, but was then cobbled together in such a hurry that you only create moderation with it. Still, I have to say that the movie wasn't completely disastrous. In terms of content, of course, a concept that you can write down on three lines, but the flood full of sharks that slowly engulfs the house is quite entertaining.

The shark is poorly animated, but the attacks of this beast are actually still okay. Because the fact is actually too ridiculous for words, it still wants to catch on, but in terms of tension it remains fairly flat. Cohn does little to blend himself with the film. Seemed like he himself was afraid of the animated shark, because the camera never blends in with the situation, so we can watch the humans go down here in the water from land. Personally, I'd rather fall in the water with them. In real life that may not be desirable, but for the tension in a movie it is absolutely necessary.

Swim moves fairly quickly from point A to point B, but in between it lacks tension, atmosphere and focus. Conceptually still nicely filled in and I'm a sucker for sharks in horror movies, but then the positive pretty much ends. I've definitely seen them worse in this frame, but Swim is barely touching mediocrity for this kind of movie.

Watched this film on Blu-ray today, it has little story, but the film does start quite quickly with the shark in combination with the high water (storm).

This film is a derivation of 'Crawl' only this one with a shark, the film largely takes place in a kind of holiday home in which a family is located and this family has to go higher and higher as the water rises and the shark goes along with it, there is also some help along the way, but they mostly have to do it alone to stay away from the shark.

The film was nowhere really high or exciting, quite a bit happened, but you don't really empathize with the characters, a lot of talk in the sense of: ''Are you okay''? got on my nerves a bit, I thought the shark came across as pretty good.

All in all a somewhat boring film without gore and tension, but not very bad either.
