Soiled plot

Singer Mary Brown promises playboy John Duane that she will marry him in exchange for $2,500. This allows Mary to repay a theft from her brother Wilbur to his employer. Mary's boyfriend, race car driver Jimmie York, learns the reason for her marriage to John and he hands her a check for $2,500, but the check is not backed before he can win the Big Race that afternoon. Jimmie leads the race until he gets a flat tire in the last corner and he finishes fourth. It looks like John may be getting married to Mary soon, unless Jimmie can find a buyer for a race car with a flat tire.
