Redemption plot

John Sato (Don 'The Dragon' Wilson) is commander of an LAPD SWAT team, whose belief is that civilian lives come before those of his fellow officers. Due to his reckless behavior, a colleague is killed during a mission and he is fired from the LAPD. Forced by circumstances and lack of money, he goes to work for the mob boss Tony Leggio (Chris Penn). Slowly but surely he is drawn deeper and deeper into the criminal circuit. And this brings him into conflict with his former life and friends in the police force.
