William Conroy, a former university lecturer, has been sentenced to prison for driving under the influence and causing a fatal traffic accident. One night, one of his fellow inmates dies in a shady way, prompting William to ask the wrong questions and fear for his own life. The next day he is suddenly transferred and during the drive his life is threatened and he can barely escape.
