Martial arts mistress Cempaka's health is failing, forcing her to designate a worthy successor. The successor will be in possession of her magical Golden Staff. Her choice falls on Dara, one of her four disciples. This angers the eldest of the group, Biru, who claims to have the most right to the mythical weapon. Together with Gerhana, he rebels against Dara and their mistress, and tries to take the Staff by force. Dara narrowly escapes death. She owes this mainly to the help of a mysterious stranger, who convinces her to take revenge.
