Night of the Running Man plot
When taxi driver Jerry Logan (Andrew McCarthy) finds an abandoned suitcase containing $1 million in his cab, he thinks he's finally hit the jackpot. His happiness is short-lived when the money turns out to be from a corrupt casino owner. He orders David Eckhart (Scott Glenn), a ruthless killer, to recover the money and kill Jerry. Jerry's first confrontation with Eckhart ends badly for Jerry, and he ends up in the hospital with severe burns. Jerry sees only one solution left: along with the beautiful nurse Chris, he must try to deal with the sadistic Eckhart once and for all.
