Muru plot
"Serve or protect?"
Police officer Taffy Tawharau returns to what should be a quiet existence in the field of law-breaking. Some of the locals, including well-known activist Tame Iti, are fed up with the mistreatment of the Maori community by the New Zealand government. Everything changes in this relatively peaceful valley when the authorities raid the community, looking for Tame Iti and any weapons caches. As gunmen arrive, someone is shot, leading to a heightened, simmering dynamic that threatens to explode into widespread violence. Taffy, who supports his people as well as his colleagues, tries to bring the situation to a conclusion.
