Law and Order plot

The main characters of this film are the male members of an Irish-American family of three generations of police officers. There are conflicts between them, especially between Deputy Chief Public Affairs Brian O'Malley and his son Patrick, the Vietnam veteran turned street cop. In addition to his troubles at home, Chief O'Malley has been dealing with rumors of departmental corruption. These are moral problems and psychological questions that these police officers have to deal with.
