Filibusterismo, EL plot

Thirteen years after leaving the Philippines, Juan Crisostomo Ibarra returns, using a new identity as Simoun, a wealthy bearded jeweler with blue-tinted lenses. Simoun is no longer the idealist of the past, but out for revenge because of the bad things that happened to him. Simoun becomes the chief adviser to the Spanish governor general. His aim here is to incite the people to a revolution.
