Distant Drums plot
"Against unseen jungle terrors and untamed savage tribes ... and pounding war-drums that echoed his challenge!"
1840, the east coast of Florida. A historic operation that will end the war against the Seminoles Indians. After a long journey, Lieutenant Tufts arrives at Quincy's Island, where Captain Wyatt and his son live among the Creeks tribe. The child's mother, a Native American princess, was killed by soldiers. Captain Wyatt goes to headquarters to check his men before embarking on the enemy river. The men go to a fortress where whites are held captive. Among them are Judy and her maid Amelia. The captives are freed, but are attacked by the Seminoles. Wyatt must retreat deep into the jungle. There he finds Judy. She asks him to help her get revenge.
