This has been lying around for a while and watched it once and the film was not that bad. The story is not really special, but with a monster movie this is usually the case. You didn't usually see the monster itself much in the movie, except for its tentacles (but these looked good and scary). The cast did their part well and luckily they weren't so cliché: the hero wasn't so invincible after all, the "helpless" woman (Famke Janssen) also had balls on her body, ...

The film was exciting at times (my dad popped into the couch anyway ), did contain some gore, could entertain me for the full 100 minutes and was more than worth its €1.50.

I also thought the behind the scenes was worth a look: usually this is some gibberish on set, but here you also saw how they shot certain scenes and how the actors were fighting against something invisible.

Titanic with sea monsters

The cruise ship is a fantastic setting for a movie like this.

And because they have really taken the time to build up a good character, you are left with a convincing but also atmospheric whole.

At the end there is a hint to a sequel that never came, too bad...

All in all, great viewing food

Very entertaining movie, it's the 4th time I've seen it now, but this time on a nice Bluray disc!

Well in English (unfortunately this film does not have a Dutch version on Bluray)

The film starts a bit slow, but once the group enters the ship the problems start and there is plenty of tension, action, horror and some humor.

The beast is also well made, not fake or anything and looked pretty scary

The final piece was also spectacular, therefore 4 stars!
