Great sequel with a slightly higher tempo and even more beautiful locations. Wilt Chamberlain, the legendary basketball mastodon of the 1970s, is physically impressive even at Schwarzenegger because of his height.

I thought I saw Nigel Terry (Merlin in Excalibur) again as a wizard but it was someone else after all.

Too bad there wasn't a part 3. I wasn't really interested in Conan before, but now I really liked it, because of the simplicity of the Sword & Sorcery genre.

Cons:

-Rubber monsters....ugh.

-Grace Jones... ditto. She's not bad but give me that lovely Sandahl Bergman.

-The thief who has to play the comic note.

- Clumsy fight scenes. This also applies in the first film, it lacks real combat choreography as you see in modern films. But the editing often looks nicer because there are not too many cuts in it.

Let me tell you of the days of high adventures...

Surprisingly enough, it wasn't that bad, although this really isn't a masterpiece. There is hardly any chemistry between the actors. They are not a close group, they just walk around with each other. That's completely understandable: in addition to Arnie in one of his least roles, you also have other second-rate actors to complete the cast: Grace Jones, basketball player Wilt Chamberlain and that annoying sidekick Malak (Tracey Walter). What does yield points is the successful design and a story that is quite entertaining. Some scenes looked cool and I liked the special effects better here than in Conan The Barbarian (2*).
