Tokuichi is a young man with a strong sense of justice. He is torn apart by his love for two girls: the serious Suzuko whose parents he delivers milk to and the bouncy Taneko who pushes herself on him. She tries to unbalance him when he really wants to hold on to his Japanese values and wisdom.
