Fans have been left stunned as a fan favourite character DIES at the very beginning of Happy Gilmore 2.
***Obviously, spoilers for Netflix's Happy Gilmore 2 below.***
Just under 30 years since we last saw Happy, he has given up golf and is working in a supermarket to try and support his five children while also dealing with a descent into alcoholism.
It turns out that his life started to go downhill after he killed his own life, Virginia, after hitting her in the head with one of his famous drives!
It was a fairly shocking way to start the comedy sequel, but fans need not worry too much as actor Julie Bowen returns throughout the movie in a series of flashbacks and visions.
Happy Gilmore 2 focuses on the title character, played by Adam Sandler, attempting to make an unlikely golf comeback in order to pay for a prestigious ballet school for his daughter.
He returns to the tour and reunites with some old friends, and enemies, in order to battle a new breakaway competition that threatens to take down golf as we know it.
The main cast is Sandler, Bowen, Christopher McDonald (returning as rival Shooter McGavin), Benny Safdie, Bad Bunny, Ben Stiller, Dennis Dugan, Sunny Sandler, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Ethan Cutkosky and Haley Joel Osment.
However, there are a plethora of entertaining cameos spread across the film...
Which celebrities cameo in Happy Gilmore 2?
Perhaps the most amusing cameos come from professional golfers.
Former bad boy of golf, John Daly, plays himself as Happy's burnout neighbour.
Keegan Bradley, Fred Couples, Nick Faldo, Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler, Jim Furyk, Sergio García, Charley Hull, Hunter Mahan, Collin Morikawa, Jack Nicklaus, Corey Pavin, Xander Schauffele, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Lee Trevino, Bubba Watson and Will Zalatoris play themselves.
One of the movie's funniest gags focuses on Zalatoris' real-life resemblance to Happy's caddy from the first movie.
Towards the final third of the movie, Happy teams with superstars Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka and Scottie Scheffler, who lowkey steals the movie with a nod to his arrest during the PGA Championship in 2024.
Other notable cameos come from professional wrestler Becky Lynch, Steve Buscemi, Margaret Qualley, Eric Andre, Martin Herlihy, John Lovitz, Eminem, Boban Marjanovic and Paige Spiranac.
