To play Juggernaut, Jones had to wear prosthetics and a muscle suit at all times, and he wasn't prepared to go through it again to feature in Deadpool 3.
"I spoke to the director (Shawn Levy) and I just said 'It’s such a drama putting that suit on mentally and physically.'" he told Yahoo.
"It had its mental toll as well because you’re in it and you can’t do anything all day, you can only drink through a straw. So we couldn’t strike the deal."
“But Deadpool’s my favourite movie of all f**king time more or less. I really wanted to do it, but they didn’t have the budget to put me in the suit.”
For Deadpool and Wolverine, Hugh Jackman is set to make a sensational return as Logan/Wolverine alongside Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson.
Vinnie Jones didn't enjoy X-Men: The Last Stand
The troubles on X-Men: The Last Stand are widely attributed to director Brett Ratner, who replaced previous director Matthew Vaughn late in the day.
Jones says the final product wasn't what he signed up for and that Juggernaut became "diluted."
“The new director came on and it was not the same role as I had signed on to do," he explained.
"I lost all interest quite early because I knew they were just taking me along. I was very upset really. It was such a big stage and I became an extra, that’s what happened.”
