There are four major new movie releases in U.S. theaters this week, and we have all the details for you.
2023 has been a huge year for cinema, with the summer period flourishing thanks to the releases of Barbie and Oppenheimer. The movies were released around the same time and many theater-goers actually did the double-feature, which was affectionately named 'Barbenheimer'.

New Movie Releases this week
As we approach 2024, several huge movies will be released before the end of the year, including four this week.
As we approach Halloween, cinemagoers will be looking for what is being served up in the horror genre, and the biggest scare-filled release this week is Five Nights At Freddy's which is based on the video game franchise of the same name.
Official premise:
'Mike Schmidt, a troubled security guard, accepts a night-time job at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, a once-successful but now abandoned family entertainment center, where he discovers its four animatronic mascots – Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy – move and kill anyone that is still there after midnight.'
Five Nights At Freddy's cast: Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, Mary Stuart Masterson, and Matthew Lillard.
The latest action comedy from John Cena sees the wrestler-turned-actor team up with director Pierre Morel.
Official premise:
'Years after retiring from the Army, former Special Forces operator Mason Pettits takes a job providing security for journalist Claire Wellington as she interviews Juan Venegas, president of Paldonia. When a military coup breaks out in the middle of the interview, the three are forced to escape into the jungle together.'
Freelance cast: John Cena, Alison Brie, Juan Pablo Raba, Alice Eve, Marton Csokas and Christian Slater.
The Killer, directed by David Fincher and starring Michael Fassbender, is based on the French graphic novel of the same and tells the story of an assassin who becomes the subject of a manhunt after an attempted hit goes wrong. It will receive a short theatrical release in cinemas before being released on Netflix on 10 November.
The official premise reads:
'After a fateful near miss, an assassin battles his employers, and himself, on an international manhunt he insists isn't personal.'
The Killer cast: Michael Fassbender, Arliss Howard, Charles Parnell, Kerry O'Malley, Sala Baker, Sophie Charlotte, and Tilda Swinton.
