Former Special Forces soldier Mason Pettits is bored to death with his job at a mediocre law firm and his day-to-day life as a family man. When his old military buddy, now the boss of a shady private security company, offers him a job as a bodyguard for award-winning journalist Claire Wellington, he doesn't hesitate for a second and accepts the assignment. Mason must protect Claire on her journey to a South American country, where she will be the first journalist ever to meet notorious dictator Juan Arturo Venegas for an interview. The conversation is unexpectedly interrupted by a military coup and Claire and her bodyguard have to flee into the jungle with the crazed dictator to survive.

An action comedy entirely according to the familiar formula. A weak story, a number of people who don't get along well, but where the bickering slowly turns into a loving collaboration, lame humor, and some exaggerated action scenes that aren't very bad. Completely as expected, but at a somewhat average level. The acting is passable and visually it is all nice and colorful. 2.5

Planks are cut from thick wood, an action farce in the South American jungle. The film offers little new, but is good for more than an hour and a half of thoughtless entertainment. It's nice that Alison Brie still tries to make recordings under the most impossible circumstances.

Disappointing film about a once special soldier who accompanies a journalist to an interview with a dictator. An action comedy with a bit of a buddy element. It's all too standard, and the weak story fails to captivate at all. The casting is more fun on paper than in practice. Beautiful locations, but the film certainly cannot save this.
