There are five major new film releases in UK cinemas this week, and we have all the details for you.
2023 has been a huge year for cinema, with the summer period flourishing thanks to the releases of Barbie and Oppenheimer. The movies were released around the same time and many cinema-goers actually did the double-feature, which was affectionately named 'Barbenheimer'.

New Film Releases this week
As we approach 2024, several movies will be released before the end of the year, including five this week.
As we approach Halloween, cinemagoers will be looking for what is being served up in the horror genre, and the biggest scare-filled release this week is Five Nights At Freddy's which is based on the video game franchise of the same name.
'Mike Schmidt, a troubled security guard, accepts a night-time job at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, a once-successful but now abandoned family entertainment center, where he discovers its four animatronic mascots – Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy – move and kill anyone that is still there after midnight.'
Five Nights At Freddy's cast: Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, Mary Stuart Masterson, and Matthew Lillard.
The Killer, directed by David Fincher and starring Michael Fassbender, is based on the French graphic novel of the same and tells the story of an assassin who becomes the subject of a manhunt after an attempted hit goes wrong. It will receive a short theatrical release in cinemas before being released on Netflix on 10 November.
The official premise reads:
'After a fateful near miss, an assassin battles his employers, and himself, on an international manhunt he insists isn't personal.'

The latest helping from Liam Neeson's renaissance as an unlikely action hero is Retribution.
'While driving with his two kids, a man receives a phone call from an unknown assailant who claims there is a bomb in the car. Unable to exit the vehicle, he must now follow a series of twisted instructions while trying to figure out how to survive.'

Cat Person is a 2023 black comedy psychological thriller film directed by Susanna Fogel.
'A college student who works at a movie theatre goes on an awkward date with an older man who may be a murderer.'
Cat Person cast: Emilia Jones, Nicholas Braun, Geraldine Viswanathan, Hope Davis, Fred Melamed, and Isabella Rossellini.
The story of Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson has received numerous adaptations since the novella was first published back in 1886. The latest sees Eddie Izzard take on the title role for a modern retelling of the tale.
'Dr. Nina Jekyll pushed the glass ceiling of the pharmaceutical industry to its limits, rubbing shoulders with the elite, becoming a household name and making herself a fortune. But her success came at a cost, and after scandal forced her out of the spotlight she now lives in seclusion with her demons. In need of an assistant, Jekyll hires ex-con Rob, straight out of rehab and trying to get back on his feet. It soon becomes clear that there are evil forces at play and Rob's wits are tested in a game of cat and mouse with the Devil in all its forms.'
