We will get more Expendables movies as long as there is demand for them.
The franchise tells the story of a group of mercenaries, led by Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) and Lee Christmas (Jason Statham).
Four movies have been produced so far and the franchise is a throwback to 80s action flicks which is why Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Harrison Ford and Chuck Norris are among the stars who have made appearances.
Expend4bles was released in September, but has received negative reviews from critics.
Despite that, we'll get more movies if it is successful with fans.
"I think the door in any franchise is wide open when the fans want one," director Scott Waugh told The Hollywood Reporter.
"I mean, how many times have you and I heard that? They said the same thing on John Wick, but they’re talking about John Wick 5 now. So if the fans want one, Hollywood’s not shallow enough to deny the money possibility."
Has Stallone retired from The Expendables?
When Expend4bles had finished filming, Stallone suggested that would be his final outing as Barney, saying on Instagram:
"It’s time to be moving on. This will be my last day, so I’m enjoying it but it’s always bittersweet, you know … When something you’ve been so attached to, I guess it’s been about 12 years, and I’m ready to pass the baton on to and his capable hands."
