This week it was announced that Ballerina, a spin-off of the John Wick movies, has been delayed by a full year.
It was initially meant to be released in June of 2024, but it will now take the same spot in 2025.
An explanation for that has been given by John Wick franchise star Ian McShane, who says new footage is being shot for extended action sequences.
"It's not reshoots, it's new shoots," the acclaimed actor said on The One Show.
"They're shooting for Ballerina, which is the spinoff with Ana de Armas of the John Wick franchise. You know, it's like they've got to protect the franchise. And obviously, I did it. We did it about a year ago, we did the movie Ballerina and they've looked at it, and Chad's (Stahelski) come in, the guy who directed all the John Wick movies, and they want to make it better. Because they have to protect it.
"Because Keanu (Reeves) is in it as well, and it takes place between John Wick 3 and John Wick 4."
Ballerina is being directed by Len Wiseman.
What is the plot of Ballerina?
