Bradley Cooper has revealed that Adele almost played the lead role of Ally alongside him in A Star is Born.
There have been four versions of that movie produced so far, with the latest coming in 2018 starring Cooper and Lady Gaga.
It was a hit critically and commercially, with the soundtrack selling six million copies worldwide.
It received eight Academy Award nominations including Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Actress. The track 'Shallow' won the Oscar for Best Original Song.
Things could have been very different on the project, though, as singing superstar Adele was actually in talks to play Ally before Gaga stepped in.
“I thought about Adele for a while," Cooper said at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
"It was like, his career’s not great. He goes abroad. He meets this woman, but no - and then that never even took off at all."
And, it turns out Beyonce was also nearly cast, too.
“She was incredible," Cooper said of Queen B.
"And we went down the road and then it didn’t work out. I remember I was so nervous. I had this weird cough as I was pitching it to her.”
Adele to take a shot at acting?
Adele has actually said previously she would consider a venture into acting. However, there is one specific movie and role she wants to do, which as of now remains a mystery.
“There is one movie I want to do, but the guy whose movie it would be, he’s not mentally ready to write the script for it," she told Vanity Fair.
“I bug him every now and then about it, but he’s just not there yet. But that’s the only role I ever want. Because I think I’d nail it. I think I’d do really, really, really good at it.”
