Uh-huh. Maar onafhankelijk van de beelden is de muziek uit Umfeld voor mij niet effectief, dus de individuele nummers beoordelen los van die beelden (zoals in de vorige KO) is wat mij betreft niet vruchtbaar.

Het is net het hele idee van bestaande nummers die gebruikt worden in een film en in die combinatie voor een geweldige ervaring zorgen. Daar heeft de maker ofwel een scène zo gemaakt dat het bij een nummer hoort of heeft hij dat goeie inzicht om te zien waar er een stuk muziek perfect past bij zijn beelden.

Muziek geschreven voor een film hoort hier niet thuis, omdat de componist in dat geval het stuk gewoon bijwerkt zodat het past bij de beelden. Dat is een hele andere aanpak. Dat The Ecstasy of Gold van Morricone mooi past bij de beelden van Leone zou dan eigenlijk ook geen verrassing mogen zijn.

Voor mij is de oorsprong van een in audiovisuele zin indrukwekkende scène (is de muziek ervoor gemaakt of is hij er alleen voor geselecteerd?) oninteressant: wat ertoe doet is of de scène me raakt.

En daar laat ik het voorlopig even bij. De beslissing is aan Badalamenti, niet aan ons.

Voor mij kunnen ze beide, al gaat mijn persoonlijke voorkeur uit naar een reeds bestaand nummer.

Zou iedereen wiens links verwijzen naar nummers in plaats van scènes (DVD-T) dat even willen omzetten? En zouden mensen die video's geplaats hebben (in plaats van links) (Badalamenti, DVD-T en mjk87) dat ook even willen omzetten? En zouden een aantal anderen (Jesper187, kos en Spetie) ook nog even hun links willen herformuleren? Dat zou Badalamenti een hoop werk besparen.
