Italië is een zeer sterk filmland. Waarschijnlijk ontbreken op deze lijst nog vele titels van Visconti, Fellini en Antonioni. Volgende week mag ik Il Vangelo secondo Matteo zien, waar ik zeer naar uitkijk. Verder verwacht ik meeste van Il Conformista en L'Avventura.

Het land kent een rijke filmgeschiedenis, één waar ik veel respect voor heb. Weinig regisseurs tenslotte die die het niveau halen die regisseurs zoals bijvoorbeeld Fellini, De Sica, Visconti, Antonioni, en Sergio Leone hebben weten te bewerkstelligen.

Ik ben vooral geïnteresseerd in Avventura, L' (1960) en Vangelo secondo Matteo, Il (1964).

Land met een mooie filmtraditie inderdaad, met als interessantste figuur de onlangs overleden Michelangelo Antonioni. Zijn La Notte en L'Avventura liggen perfect in m'n straatje.

Vooral dankzij de inbreng van Fellini best een aardig filmland. Al heb ik ook hoge verwachtingen van mijn 2de Sorrentino. Ik heb lang gedacht dat de Italiaanse cinema stokte na de jaren `80. Maar eigenlijk is er de laatste jaren nog genoeg moois uitgebracht of om achteraan te gaan. Ik merk bij mijzelf wel wat stagnatie t.o.v. de Italiaanse cinema.

Kaos, Novecento, & Il Ladro de Bambini liggen nog op stapel. Ik mis in deze lijst toch echt wel: Respiro, Giulietta degli Spiriti & Certi Bambini!

Hoewel de historie rijk is, zijn de Italianen misschien ook wel de voorlopers van de recente Europese cinema met toppers als La Stanza del Figlio en vooral L'Ultimo Bacio (en Conseguenze natuurlijk).

Alleen al door Leone een onmisbaar filmland, maar Fellini heeft mijn interesse ook al gewonnen. Verder is er nog genoeg te vinden om nieuwsgierig naar te zijn al trekt niet alles me evenveel.

Het meest verwacht ik van: ...Achja. Who cares?

Ik vind het vooral grappig dat de lijst bestaat, maar ik kijk er nooit naar. De films staan er allemaal wel terecht in tot nu toe, maar ik herrinner me ze nog nauwelijks. Staan verder ook veel films in die ik als kind gezien heb, maar die me ook niet zijn bijgebleven.

Ik heb een aantal van deze films vooral gekeken rond de basisschool periode. Ik heb me toen altijd wel vermaakt met de Ernest en Police Academy films. Nu kan ik dat soort films amper nog aanzien. Best opvallend hoe veel en hoe snel je filmsmaak kan veranderen.
