De Komedie is absoluut mijn favoriete genre. In de meeste films hierboven is het komische element vooral terug te vinden als subgenre. Wat niet wegneemt dat het bij veel films wel werkt. Wat Marcelino Pan y Vino, Mr. Smith en Rain Man hier doen begrijp ik echt niet.

Ik verwacht het meest van: In the Name of the Father.

Prima decennium, maar deze lijst geeft daar maar een matige indruk van. Het lijkt wel alsof de helft van alle films uit deze 10 jaar misdaadgerelateerd waren.

"Eyes Wide Shut" en "Exotica" zijn prachtige films inderdaad, maar staan niet in de toplijst van de jaren '90 helaas.

Ik ben het eens met The One Ring; de misdaadfilm is te prominent aanwezig, maar ondanks dat staat er toch opvallend veel obscuur werk in, zelfs enkele titels die ik nog nooit eerder gelezen of gehoord heb.

Benieuwd naar "Dong", "Ai Qing Wan Sui " en "Il Ladro di Bambini".

Aan Mochizuki's rijtje van ontbrekende cineasten zou ik Bartas en Abuladze graag nog toe willen voegen.

Edit: Overigens wel vreemd dat voor een plek in pak-em-beet een decennium-toplijst slechts 30 stemmen nodig zijn en voor een plek in een toplijst van een land maar liefst 50. Wat is hier de gedachte achter?
