Briljante filmscènes

Verder scene bij de brug, in apocalypse now, zuivering schindler's list, scene in pulp fiction; oh men I shot marvin in the face' , scene met kettingzaag scarface, scene waar de leeuw een strikje in z'n haar krijgt in wizard of oz, 'let jesus fuck you' uit de exorcist, eind van de matrix een en al spektakel, verder is het meeste al gezegd.

De scene uit de voor mij recent geziene film One Hour Photo wanneer je Robbie Williams foto's op zijn muur ziet plakken. De rillingen schoten gewoon door mijn lijf.

Ik had dit weekend weer eens American History X gekeken, en vooral dat stukje als Derek uit de douche komt en zijn tattoo met zijn hand bedekt is wel een mooi stuk...

Panic room:

waar Foster naar de badkamer rent voor de medicatie van haar dochter/ zoontje. De camera lijkt haar vooruit te gaan maar dan opent ze het medicijn kastje en dan blijkt dat de camera in de spiegel keek...
Dacht vlak na deze scene: huh?

Wat je nu beschrijft komt niet uit Panic Room maar uit Contact, en die scene is niet met Jody Foster maar met de jonge actrice die hetzelfde karakter in het verleden speelt, en ze zoekt de medicijnen voor haar vader.

Maar idd een mooi gemaakte scene.

Toch even proberen:

Blue Velvet: Dennis Hopper wil terug in de baarmoeder (die van Isabella Rosselini)/Dennis Hopper playbackt "In Dreams" (was het dat wel?) van Roy Orbison

Being There: Peter Sellers probeert drugsdealer weg te zappen met zijn afstandsbediening: "Yes, I'll bring the message to Rafael".

Magnolia: John C. Reilly in het algemeen (misschien lichte voorkeur voor het moment dat hij zegt tegen Claudia: "I lost my gun today when I left you and I'm the laughingstock of a lot of people. I wanted to tell you. I wanted you to know and it's on my mind. And it makes me look like a fool. And I feel like a fool. And you asked that we should say things -- that we should say what we're thinking and not lie about things. Well, I can tell you that, this, that I lost my gun today -- and I am not a good cop. And I'm looked down at. And I know that. And I'm scared that once you find that out you may not like me."

The Virgin Suicides: James Woods probeert wanhopig de interesse te wekken voor zijn modelvliegtuigjes./Lux met Trip Fontaine op het rugbyveld.

Taxi Driver: Travis blijft de hele tijd staren in zijn glas terwijl één van zijn collega's roept "Travis! Travis!"/Travis bij zijn bezoek in de bioscoop: tegen het meisje aan het loket "What's your name?" "Give me a break" "No, serious what's your name?"

The Thin Red Line: Sean Penn met z'n "Where's your spark now?"-zinnetje.

Is niet Dennis Hopper, maar Dean Stockwell!

Ja, in de club, maar heb ik over de scene in de auto. Dat is toch Dennis Hopper, niet? Of heb ik zo verkeerd voor? Ah, help me uit mijn lijden

Hij playbackt niet, maar citeert een stuk uit de tekst van 'Love Letters' en geeft er een heel eigen betekenis aan.

Dat is het inderdaad! Eindelijk weet ik het - 't was die lijn "A candy-colored clown they call the sandman" die Hopper declameert - schitterend scene toch.

Mijn favoriete Blue Velvet quote (van Hopper):

"I'll send you a love letter! Straight from my heart, fucker! You know what a love letter is? It's a bullet from a fucking gun, fucker! You receive a love letter from me, you're fucked forever! You understand, fuck? I'll send you straight to hell, fucker!"

Potvolkoffie jaaaaaaaaaa! Inderdaad Wouter! Het is nu al een tijdje geleden dat ik Blood Simple gezien heb - maar ik waar ik destijds héél memorabel vond: het moment dat Marty een dreigend bezoekje brengt aan Abby & Ray, wegrijdt met zijn auto en vervolgens terugkeert "omdat de straat doodloopt". Dat vond én vind ik nog steeds schitterend.

Mijn favoriete stuk uit Training Day.

Oh, you mothafuckas. OK. I'm puttin' cases on all you bitches! Huh? You think you can do this shit -- you think you can do this to me?!! You mothafuckas'll be playin' basketball in Pelican Bay, when I get finished wit' you! Shoe program, nigga! Twenty-four hour lockdown! wat is daar mis mee?

Ik was lekker quotes aan het lezen van 2 van mijn favo films en toen kreeg ik spontaan Training Day-quotes... het verstoorde het o-zo-mooie rijtje.

voor mij hoort die ook bij het o zo mooie rijtje...

Dat verwachtte ik al.

Toch nog een paar leuke filmscenes (om het af te leren):

- parkeermeters aan barrels slaan in "Donnie Brasco" om toch wat geld te verdienen.

- die kleine in "The Shining" op zijn driewieler die door het huis rijdt (over de tapijten)

- The Godfather II: Michael Corleone komt te weten dat Kay een abortus achter de rug heeft ("noooooooo")

- het brandend huis op muziek van Orff (?) in "Badlands"

- Jenny die tegen Forrest Gump de volgende zin zegt op z'n eerste reis naar school: "You can sit here if you like" gevolgd door Forrest's commentaar "She was just like a little angel".

- Travis geeft commentaar op z'n geliefde in Taxi Driver: "They ..... can....not .... touch .......her" met slowmotion beelden van Cybil Shepard

De scene in True Romance met Hopper en Walken, echt meesterlijk

Zijn dit geen SPOILERS?

Sorry, had er niet aan gedacht...

Een hele mooie (en waargebeurd) tijdens de slag om Arnhem, wanneer een groep Engelsen al dagen moedig stand houdt tegen de Duitsers die duidelijk aan de winnende hand zijn.

Op een gegeven moment komt een Duitse soldaat met een witte vlag aanlopen...

Hij wordt op grote afstand tot stilstaan gemaand.

De wind wappert door de witte vlag. In de verte blaft een hond.

De Duitser incasseert en druipt af.

Bovenstaande scene uit 'A Bridge to far' ken ik ook, ook indrukwekkend ja.

Oké, het is 'Jodie Foster' maar voor de rest zie ik niet waar je zo over loopt te pffh'en.

Nu het hier over briljante filmscenes zou het wel gaaf zijn als er filmscenes uit Das Boot worden besproken....
Wat ik een goede scene vind, is dat als de Chief Engineer aan de ouwe komt melden wat er allemaal weer gerepareert is.
Wat ik ook een zeer goede scene vind is dat als de ouwe op de brug Schneller!! (2x) schreeuwt terwijl je allemaal lichtkogels op de op volle toeren varende U-96 zit komen.
Alleen al die auto-scene is zo mooi gefilmd ook.
