Bad Country plot
When police detective Bud Carter arrests hit man Jesse Weiland, he persuades Jesse to become a tipster and betray the most powerful crime organization in the south. When the syndicate orders Carter to be killed and Weiland unmasked as a snitch, the two team up to dismantle the gang.

Nice hard police movie.
With a grim, dark atmosphere that is carefully rooted in the 80s - and for a change it doesn't rely mainly on the soundtrack. Willem Dafoe and Matt Dillon both play very strong - especially Matt Dillon takes revenge here for a whole series of lesser films.
Towards the end, some parts seem to be skipped, and the choreography of the denouement does leave some stitches. This may be explained by the director's death. Still, it's still a memorable and strong film - perhaps with a somewhat familiar story, but still very good.

Reasonable film that, however, is not very original and can never rise above mediocrity, except for the good cast. Unfortunately, their characters are not very interesting, but they make it into something nice. Nice supporting role from Berenger too. Shame about the weak climax.

Mediocre film in which a hit man from the criminal circuit becomes an informant for the police. Based on a true story set in Louisiana in the early 1980s. Rather cliche characters and the nevertheless fine cast does not really know how to remedy this. The action scenes are not very good and the story is rather poorly developed. This was a great crime movie.
