Reasonable film about a computer hacker who tries to figure out the meaning behind existence. The film has a bizarre, futuristic look like other films by Terry Gilliam (Brazil, Twelve Monkeys). However, the story is a lot less. The existential dialogues are entertaining, as are the colorful characters.

Beautiful film, funny philosophical angle: Disenchantment, when you show that there is no afterlife (the Zero Theorem, 100% = 0, earth life takes on all meaning, making people want to get the most out of their short earthly existence, with which you can market "happiness" and "meaning" to the maximum... Nice how the church is literally demolished in the end with jesus being pulled from his cross as a climax

Good acting, nice sets.

4*

Well, what are you supposed to do with this? Bizarre story about loneliness and understanding the search for the reason for human existence. It doesn't get really philosophical, it's more of a chaotic combination of love, loneliness, technological progress, power and the ultimate search for the meaning of life, with most scenes appearing boring. The ending provides a low point with a cover of creep. 4/10
