I found the story particularly confusing, and then there's the constant explanation of what actually happened. And with a voiceover, no less. For a comedy, there's really not much to laugh at. I read somewhere the suggestion that it was an attempt to make a Guy Ritchie-esque film, but with an American twist. If that was indeed the intention, it didn't turn out very well.

The scam in this film isn't new, and several others have already been released. Therefore, the plot isn't particularly revealing, and you quickly figure out where the film will end. The humor is a bit weak and therefore not particularly good. Veterans like Kurt Russell and Matt Dillon try their best, but it just doesn't quite cut it.

Now that I see this film has a relatively low rating, I find it even more remarkable that I wanted to see it. A film about a group of people stealing a work of art is the kind of film I've seen plenty of times. If you've seen one, you've seen them all. And the first scene in prison wasn't a strong start. I had a feeling it was going to be another long one. But this film was different. For starters, multiple works of art are stolen in this film, while most films focus on the preparation and execution of the theft of a single piece of art. That gave the film a bit more momentum. But there were also some pretty funny humor here and there. Yet, this film stands out above its genre mainly because of its ingenious story with a surprising plot twist, as revealed at the end. I'm only giving this film three stars because it's not really my kind of film, but because I think it's quite good within its genre. If you do enjoy this kind of film, I would expect this film to have a very high rating. But apparently, that's not how it works. So I was curious what motivates most people to dislike this film. And judging by what many people are writing, it seems most people want a traditional film where one work of art is stolen and the entire film is built around it. That seems like a key requirement for the genre. And preferably a bit more action and violence.
