Impressionistic portrait of the iconic Hollywood actor Harry Dean Stanton, 86 years old and about 250 film titles to his name. Film clips from his most memorable roles - Alien, Paris, Texas, The Straight Story, Cool Hand Luke - alternate with intimate moments at Stanton's home on the couch or with director Sophie Huber in tow through nightly Los Angeles. Stanton is slowly reminiscing, but like his most memorable role as Travis in Wim Wenders' classic Paris, Texas, he is not a big talker. He prefers to visit the bar where he has been a regular customer for 42 years, or give his own heartbreaking interpretations of American blues and folk songs such as 'Blue Moon' and 'Tennessee Whiskey' in the safe environment of his home.
