"They know we know they lie"

In HyperNormalisation, Adam Curtis shows how we have arrived in this strange time, in which uncertainty determines many lives and even those in power do not know what to do. Everything is happening that seems beyond our control: from the rise of Donald Trump to Brexit, the war in Syria, the refugee crisis, and seemingly random bombings. Curtis tries to explain not only why all this is happening, but also why we are unable to get a grip on the current reality. Western man has withdrawn into a simplified and often deceptive version of reality, but because this version surrounds us, we accept it as normal.
