Kiss the Boys Goodbye plot
Broadway producer Bert Fisher wants to make a musical version of a top-selling Civil War novel. He sends director Lloyd Lloyd and composer Dick Rayburn to the southern United States to find an authentic-feeling protagonist. The two end up on Tom Rumson's plantation in Georgia. There they are forced to watch the impromptu audition of his niece Cindy Lou Bethany. Lloyd doesn't like the girl at all, but Rayburn seems completely captivated by Cindy Lou. Both men are unaware that Cindy Lou is cheating and has never set foot in the south before.
