"The house always wins."
Richie Furst (Justin Timberlake) is a student at Princeton University. However, he loses all his tuition fees through an online poker game. When he discovers that the site is being managed from a deserted island, he decides to confront the corrupt owner Ivan Block (Ben Affleck). However, he is tempted to become Ivan's protégé and right-hand man. When an FBI agent tries to arrest Ivan by putting Richie in front of him, their relationship reaches a boiling point.
