Minstrel Man plot

Over the years, singer and minstrel Dixie Boy Johnson has evolved from simple, local gigs to Broadway shows. On the night Dixie is due to open his own show 'Minstrel Man', his beloved wife Caroline is expecting the birth of their first child. However, Dixie's producer Lew Dunn insists that he continue with the show rather than support his wife in the hospital. However, when Dixie leaves the stage, he learns that something terrible has happened.
