The Way West plot
"Cracking Like a Whip From Here to Excitement!"
Missouri 1843. Ex-Senator Tudlock and Summers are hired to bring a group of people to Oregon and protect them from the Native Americans. Even if there are deaths, Tudlock drives on mercilessly. People begin to doubt him and decide to put Evans forward as leader to continue the ride, but he soon faces the many perils of the journey.

Nice film in which a group of pioneers move west. Of course enough happens along the way, but some developments were a bit too soap opera-like for me. Furthermore, an entertaining western in which the caravan pulls through the landscape and manages to deliver a number of beautiful pictures. Also nice to see a young Sally Field here.
