The Christmas Tree plot

The poor children who live in Mrs. Mavilda's orphanage have never received Christmas presents. They've never even learned about Santa Claus because Mavilda doesn't believe in that kind of nonsense. Despite the bad conditions, they still try to celebrate a little Christmas under a pine tree that grows next to their house. When a young mother and her two lovely children go to work at the orphanage, the orphans get hope for a real Christmas, but not if it's up to Mrs. Mavilda!
