Luke and Kate are colleagues at a Chicago brewery where they spend their days drinking and flirting. They are a perfect match, only they are both in a relationship. Luke is about to marry his girlfriend he's been dating for six years, and Kate is dating music producer Chris. But the beer is blurring the boundaries more and more.

A nice video. Finally a realistic story. Slowly babbling on, but I liked that. Very good acting with good chemistry. Indeed, the whole story seems to go towards a partner change, which fortunately does not happen. Also, Jill is cheating, not Luke as expected. I found that interesting. I think the moment of the wound, when Luke misses his caring girlfriend, is a nice turning point of the film The realistic feeling about it really appealed to me. I found the large amount of beer consumed a downside. With this amount, they could call themselves alcoholics.

Fine. Drinking Buddies lives up to its title, as I got thirsty just watching the movie. Lots of beer, and almost all the characters are half alcoholics. But Jake Johnson and Olivia Wilde have a nice chemistry, and after a predictable start, the film still manages to be original. It's not all too sentimental, and the ending isn't overly feel good. And that is sometimes refreshing.

I find this downright ridiculous. We just wanted a nice girls night, the film title promises a lot, but nothing could be further from the truth. I want 90 minutes of my life back. Horrible.
