The Island of St. Matthews plot

Years ago, American filmmaker Kevin Jerome Everson asked his aunt where their old family photos had gone. Her answer—"They were all lost in the flood"—spurred this tour of the residents of Westport, a town just west of Columbus, Mississippi. They reminisce about the great flooding of the Tombigbee River in 1973, when some residents lost everything. Many heirlooms and photos of the Eversons have also been swallowed up, disappearing part of the family history.
