The Wishing Tree plot

Evan Farnsworth is a literature professor at a private boarding school in rural Maine. His atypical working methods make him popular with his students. The town of San Marco is famous for its "Wishing Tree" under which people lay their wishes for the Christmas season. Sadly, Evan, recently widowed, has lost faith in the Christmas spirit. Being alone, he is responsible for the students who cannot return home during the holidays.
