Shanidâru no Hana plot
A strange event takes place in the lab where Kenji Otaki works. That is where the Shanidaru is grown. This flower grows on the body of a specially selected woman. When this flower is in full bloom, it produces a substance that is sold at a high price to be used in a new kind of medicine.

It took a while, but it finally arrived.
Another less typical Ishii, for the punk elements you should not be here (except maybe the soundtrack, very slightly). For a nice mix of sci-fi and fantasy, reasonably down-to-earth but fortunately with the necessary style.
First half is mainly an introduction to the setting and the characters, then more thriller elements are added, to increase the tension towards the end. Fine cast, tight visuals and a remarkable soundtrack. Too bad it remains so difficult to get these kinds of movies.
